A World War II hero, my father, Captain Stanford E. Linzey, Jr., CHC, USN (Ret.), survived the Battle of Midway and the Battle of the Coral Sea. He was a sailor then, but a chaplain later.

Greetings Brothers and Sisters in the Name of the Lord:
I trust that you are doing well and are planning to be with us in Norwalk for the Conference in October. The dates are set for October 7.8.and 9. The management at the Norwalk Inn have been very pleased that we desire to return for a stay with them. Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates and Chaplain James F. Linzey on June 22, 2009 just prior to Chaplain Linzey's retirement from the military. Evangelist Jim Linzey will focus on publishing and promoting The Leader's Bible to donate to military troops.

We have completed over half of our summer groups now. I finally have time to catch up on some email. We have about one third of the groups that we normally have in a summer with all the violence at the border and the swine flu scare earlier this spring. Even though the groups are fewer, it is ministry as usual for our missionaries, students, and summer staffers. We have more than a week without a group so we are traveling south with the summer staff to visit each of the locations that we have in Veracruz and Oaxaca and encourage our pastors and pick up the students that remain in each of the locations.

 I wanted to send out a quick update and let you know some of what is going on in the ministry right now. I just returned from the orphanage site in El Higo and the island in Oaxaca. When I arrived in El Higo, the students were finishing up their time there. They had been at that location when the Swine Flu outbreak started and within a few days the government of Mexico had basically shut down the entire country.
