TEXT:
Nahum 1:2  "God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserveth wrath for His enemies."

INTRODUCTION:
Nahum 1:2 doesn't say that God reserves His wrath for America. It doesn't say that God reserves his wrath for His enemies plus America.  It doesn't say that God reserves His wrath for His children.  It says, He reserves or saves His wrath for His enemies. America is not God's enemy!

There is a great deal of negative preaching today about America's future.  The most common things said about America is that she is:
    1) Gospel Hardened
    2) Headed for God's Judgment
    3) Going to be destroyed by the devil
I don't believe any of it!

I. AMERICA IS NOT GOSPEL HARDENED!

 A. MOST PULPITS AREN'T EVEN PREACHING THE GOSPEL
  1. The majority of pulpits today are filled with philosophers and social workers.
  2. Over 1/2 don't even believe in the virgin birth of Christ.
  3. The majority of seminaries don't teach their students the innerrancy of Scripture.

 B. THEY TEACH "HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE"
  1. They want to influence them to come to their institution.
  2. They've turned the church into an institution.
    a) To some, it's a BLESS-ME CLUB with a free gym.
    b) To some it's a SOCIAL OUTING to meet with some friends.
    c) To some it's a FASHION SHOW
    d) If that's all it is, it needs to have the word "ICHABOD" written over the door!
  3. The church is not supposed to be an institution.
  4. It is supposed to be an instrument in the hands of God! (Can I have an "Amen"?)

 C. WHAT MANY CALL THE "GOSPEL" IS SIMPLY NOT IT
  1. Any first year Berean student can tell you that "Gospel" means "Good News"!
  2. Pointing out people's sin is not giving them "Good News"
  3. Giving people a list of "Do's and Don'ts" is not "Good News"
  4. Telling people that they must go through the Great Tribulation is not "Good News"
  5. Telling people that the Anti-Christ is going to shoot them is not "Good News"
  6. The Gospel is GOOD NEWS!

 D. THE GOOD NEWS IS:
  1. Jesus is alive and well! He rose again!
  2. Jesus still saves, heals, and delivers!
  3. ...For God so loved you that He gave His only begotten son that if you would believe
         in Him you should not perish but have eternal life!

 E. AMERICA IS NOT GOSPEL HARDENED
  1. America is philosophy hardened!
  2. America is hardened to the traditions of men!
  3. America is hardened to dead beat preachers with a form of godliness which denies the
    power thereof!
  4. But, America needs to hear the gospel!
  5. We have people sitting right here in this room who have gotten saved within the last
    few weeks and months.
  6. They are living proof that America is not gospel hardened!

II. AMERICA IS NOT HEADED FOR GOD'S WRATH

 A. SOME CLAIM GOD'S WRATH IS COMING UPON AMERICA
  1. They claim Christianity is on the decrease and the wrath of God is coming
  2. Some have written books and made millions of dollars claiming this.
  3. The fact is, Christianity is NOT on the decrease.
  4. CHURCHianity is what is on the decrease.
  5. There is revival in America among those who worship the Living God.
  6. Meanwhile, people are leaving in droves from dead churches.

 B. MORE ARE BEING SAVED THAN ANYTIME IN HISTORY
  1. Every major survey shows an increase in salvations among Bible believing churches.
  2. There is revival in America and in our world!

 C. DEAD DENOMINATIONALISM IS ON THE DECREASE
  1. The old line is trying to fight this current move of God.
  2. They are losing people from their church rolls and they are worried about it.
  3. The problem is, they teach a Jesus who is a HAS BEEN!
  4. According to them, Jesus used to perform miracles, cast out devils, and heal the sick.
  5. According to them, He doesn't do those things anymore.
  6. Their Jesus is a HAS BEEN!
  7. BUT, the Jesus of the Bible is THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER!
 

 D. YOU ASK, "WHAT ABOUT THE WICKEDNESS ALL AROUND?"
  1. Sin is more open.
  2. Sin is advertised.
  3. Sin is taught perhaps more widely than ever before.
  4. If God didn't spare Sodom, why should He spare America?

 E. Gen18:32 GOD WOULD HAVE SPARED SODOM FOR 10 RIGHTEOUS
  1. Sodom was a city of several hundred thousand people, perhaps even a million people.
  2. Show me one city, town, or village in America that doesn't have at least 10 righteous.
  3. God would have spared Sodom for the sake of a remnant!
  4. America is not just a remnant.
  5. America is God's right arm of evangelism.
  6. Over 95% of the Christian missionaries in this world come from America!
  7. Over 95% of the money supporting the spread of the gospel comes from America!
  8. God will spare America if for no other reason than the sake of a godly remnant!
  9. But, we aren't just a godly remnant, we are God's right arm of evangelism!

III. AMERICA WON'T BE DESTROYED BY SATAN!

 A. THE DEVIL IS NOT WHAT HE USED TO BE!
  1. Eph.1:22 tells us that the devil is under our feet!
  2. James 4:7 tells us the devil flees from Christians who resist him!
  3. The devil is a defeated foe! (Can I have an "Amen"?)

 B. YOU ASK, "BUT WHAT ABOUT THE BEAST IN REV. 13:7?"
  1. What about him?
  2. Who gives the beast his power? (Rev.13:2)
  3. The "Dragon" does.  The "dragon" is Satan.
  4. Satan is an already defeated foe!
  5. What are you worried about him for?
  6. That's like worrying that Mussolini will take over the world because Hitler has
    given him his military weapons...
  7. Hitler's military weapons have long since been defeated!
  8. The dragon's power has long since been broken.
  9. He has no power over a Child of God!

IV. WHAT ABOUT AMERICA'S FUTURE?

 A. THE BLESSINGS OF ABRAHAM
  1. Gen 12:3 God told Abraham, "I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee..."
  2. This was a blessing upon Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (or Israel)
  3. It didn't say, "I will bless them that bless thee and are righteous..."
  4. It says, "I will bless them that bless thee!"
  5. This is a blessing that was for Abraham and his descendants.
  6. The modern day descendants of Abraham is the nation of Israel
  7. America has been the greatest day blessing to the nation of Israel

B. AMERICA'S BLESSINGS
  1. America is preserved because of Abraham's blessing
  2. America is preserved because she is God's right arm of evangelism.
  3. America is preserved for the sake of a remnant.

CONCLUSION:

    AMERICA'S FUTURE IS ONE OF BLESSING AND NOT A CURSE!

    GOD HAS "RESERVED HIS WRATH" FOR "HIS ENEMIES"! (Nahum 1:2)
    If you are a Christian, you are not God's enemy!  You are His child!

    GOD WOULD HAVE SPARED SODOM FOR THE SAKE OF A REMNANT!
    If you are a Christian you are part of the "righteous remnant" in America?

    Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

    Romans 3:23 says we've all sinned and come short of the glory of God - nobody is perfect! Everyone comes short of the
    perfection which God demands.
    Romans 6:23 says the wages of sin is death or separation from God, but the GOOD NEWS is "the gift of God is eternal life
    through Jesus Christ!"  It is a free gift!

    You can receive this eternal life and become a Christian by calling on Jesus to be your Savior (Romans 10:13)!  To accept
    Jesus as your Savior, simply pray the following prayer to God in sincerity with faith that God will fulfill the promise
    Romans 10:13:

    "Lord, I know that I am sinner.  I believe Jesus shed His blood to put away my sin.  I now receive Him as my Lord and
     Savior!  Lord Jesus, come into my heart, forgive my sins, and help me to live for you! In Jesus' name I pray!  Amen!"
